What's new
Every release of Open Sound Connect, newest first.
2.0.0
LatestMore headphones, a clearer layout, and a simpler way to manage your purchase.
- The full 1000X family: MDR-1000X, WH-1000XM2, WH-1000XM3 and WH-1000XX join XM4, XM5 and XM6, with matching interactive models and controls tailored to each headset.
- Sound, Voice and Wearing: a reorganized window puts the equalizer, saved curves, NC Optimizer and sound quality together. Speak-to-Chat and voice guidance have their own Voice page; touch controls, wearing detection, power and connectivity live under Wearing.
- Room to breathe: Sound, Wearing and Settings use clearer card layouts and columns. Keyboard shortcuts now cover all eight pages.
- Easier scene editing: expand a scene in place and adjust related settings together, with clearer options and icons.
- Battery colors, your way: choose when the battery indicator turns yellow or red in My Device and the menu bar.
- More controls where supported: additional audio, listening, battery-care and connection settings appear when your headphones report them.
- A simpler device view: Now Playing and codec badges have been removed, keeping the focus on your headphones and their controls.
- Website purchases through Polar: activate with your license key, manage up to two active installations, and access your purchase from your Polar account.
- Connection and status fixes: improved reconnection and clearer feedback when the headphones confirm a change.
1.4.1
The main window is lighter on your Mac.
- Smoother window: moving the pointer over the window and its buttons takes much less work, so your Mac stays cooler and quieter. Nothing looks different.
1.4.0
A big battery and fan saver.
- Much lighter: while Open Sound Connect sits in the background, it now does almost nothing, even with the window closed. Your Mac's battery lasts longer.
- Only what it needs: the app now asks macOS for Bluetooth, the files you choose and the daily update check, and nothing else. Your scenes and settings come along automatically.
